Spring in the Air???

Lovin’ these sunny, milder days! Also love seeing the melting snow, even though it means mud and muck around. Would love to think that the snow is gone, but knowing Michigan weather, we have more yet to come.

Sarah’s baby, little Klara, is due in about 6 weeks. Though with Sarah “symptoms”…could it possibly be sooner?

We are hosting Carson’s 5th birthday at our house this Saturday. Having 5 “little kids” and adults coming. The theme is a combination of “Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar” and “Bugs”, with a caterpillar cupcake cake, sand buckets with fun items inside, gifts, lunch and a few games.

Christmas is in the air!

Here it is almost 1:30 in the morning and can’t sleep. Pain med’s wore off, and I’m trying to extend the time between taking them. Having a bit of a reaction,,,itching! So as I’m waiting for it to take effect, decided to update my blog. It’s been quite a while.

Love Christmas time. Sitting and looking at our lighted Christmas trees and listening to Christmas music and being most thankful for all we have.

Where am I in the “Christmas to do list”? Trees up and decorated, house decorated, outside is decorated. Meals planned, and next on the list is shopping tomorrow for ingrediants for making Christmas cookies (at least 4 different kinds) and Christmas candy. Also checking my recipes for meals and what items still need to be bought for those receipes. Gifts?? Well I’m about 3/4 done with my gift shopping and will try to get more done this weekend. Wrapping has begun on the gifts that have been bought. More wrapping will be happening tomorrow!

Really beginning to feel spring in the air! With the milder weather, some sunny days and the coming of Easter, it all brings a great hope of new things.

Wayne and I are so looking forward to some time off at Spring break. We have some fun things planned and always look forward to our time together. Steph too is looking forward to our shopping trip to the Woodfield Mall and Ikea and the Field Museum, will be going to the new Pirate Exhibition put on National Geographic, the slave ship (that went down in 1717) that was recovered with all the artifacts on board.

Been reflecting lately on how much I have to be thankful for!

With the coming of warm and sunny days, March is bringing an end to this long winter. It seems as if each winter gets a bit longer, and with the many snowy, white, bone-chilling days we have had this winter season it seemed to go on a long time!

March also brought Carson’s 4th birthday…my how quickly the time passes! He has glasses now and he such a cute boy in them!

We are planning a trip to Chicago for a few days in April. Planning out our vacations this summer, one will be to Kansas before Matt and Sherry make their move and possibly one to Florida. Just making plans for the spring and summer months helps to herald in the feeling of spring!

We still are so enjoying our Wii and the Wii fit and now the Wii Personal Trainer. What great exercise we get from it and what fun we have with it! Best investment we have made! Also, every day at work during lunch a group of us get together and do a 1 mile workout dvd, usually one of Leslie Sanson’s walking work outs. I also try to fit one in the evenings and now trying to fit one in the mornings before work…which is a challenge!

Enjoying Facebook with the people I am know getting to know again. Finding old lost friends is wonderful and reminiscing over memories is so fun!

Posting pics of my cubie “home” at work.

What a long and cold and white winter this has been. There is much longing for warmth, greenery and the multi-hues of flowers blooming!! We are contemplating a trip to the Tenn. mountains for spring break. We are still in the “thinking about”. We just need a get-away vacation!

I was a regular on Myspace, but since becoming more familiar with Facebook, have transferred over. The wonderful part about it is I have found some long lost friends. Teri a friend from school years at Waverly, lived behind me in the same neighborhood and have also found a dear friend from College, Bill, who was also in our wedding and haven’t seen him since Olivet years. How wonderful to reconnect and share friendships again!

Will be posting new pictures soon. I just purchased a new camera to replace the one that quit working. This one takes much better pictures, so hopefully will have some good ones to post soon.

Oh and a new site I found that is a hoot: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/ . She has a lot of good down-home recipes! Her site includes other ramblings as well…
